October 18 marks World Menopause Day, a globally recognized occasion to raise awareness about menopause, break down stigma, and emphasize the importance of support and understanding. The 2025 theme is Lifestyle Medicine, which highlights how everyday choices, such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and social connection, can play a powerful role in menopausal health.
Lifestyle interventions are increasingly supported by evidence: for example, studies show they can help reduce vasomotor symptoms, improve sleep and mental well-being, support healthy weight, and reduce risks of chronic conditions like osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease.
This World Menopause Day, let’s spotlight the ways in which empowering women with informed, lifestyle-based strategies can help them not just manage symptoms, but thrive during the transition and beyond.
